The Hays code were guidelines imposed between 1934 and 1968 on all films that were released by motion pictures. Hays code was developed as a censorship system of content being produced through films. Lewis (2021) states that the Hayes Code “prohibited profanity, suggestive nudity, graphic or realistic violence, sexual persuasions and rape.”
